Icon Vehicle Dynamics Takes a Podium Finish at Lucas Oil Regional Series. Riverside, CA. –

The #11 Icon Vehicle Dynamics, SDHQ, Nissan Motorsports Mini Stock takes 3rd place at the second round of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series, featured at the prominent Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California.

The Icon Vehicle Dynamics Nissan Hardbody was driven by sponsored driver Andrea Pathiakis. Pathiakis was the feature of the race day as she drove the #11 ICON Vehicle Dynamics race truck against the competition in her Mini Stock class and mixed it up with the Mini Open class. From practice to the main event, race fans could see that she was a big contender destined for the top of the podium and was ready to out drive any one in her way.

This was Pathiakis’ debut in a short course race but she is not unfamiliar in racing off-road or to high speed driving and it showed when she put down the fastest lap of the Mini Stock class in qualifying. “The truck was running really strong and after tuning the 2.5″ VS Series Icon Shock after practice to get rid of that “stock” truck feel, I was ready to see what this Nissan could do for the rest of the day.”

Pathiakis started second in the main event and with the track being soaked to the bone in water, she did not show a drop of sweat and quickly passed not only the leader in her class but two other trucks to start running 2nd overall and 1st in Mini Stock. “When I saw that water truck went around two, three, then four times, all I could think was “drive smart, don’t spin your tires, stay high!” It helped as I saw the competition slipping and sliding all over the place, making the passes even easier. I knew that once I got up front I could settle in and put down even faster lap times. My Icon Shocks helped me the most in that main event as I could stay on top the whoops as best as a stock truck could and I didn’t have to worry about slowing down over the large, high-flying table tops. Our Yokohama tires came from the support of Grant and Chad George’s Superlite program. They really helped the truck stay planted and gave me an instant confidence boost.”

Pathiakis held a quick pace as she defended her spot and put the distance between the #11 and the jam packed field behind her. The ICON Nissan Hardbody truck was soaring over the infamous Glen Helen jumps and throwing a dirt roost left and right through the fast, banked turns enough for Pathiakis to start pulling for the overall. Despite her ambitious driving, the Nissan’s stock motor started to smoke coming around turn two of the course. “I knew something was wrong coming past the stands, it just wasn’t putting the power out any more and my foot was to the floor. Then the truck died in turn two and I had to work to get it to start again.” Pathiakis’ motor had blown an impressive hole in the block, but the driver still managed to stay on the podium taking home a 3rd place trophy.
